Why choose Coir compost?

It's made from coconut husk, coir is a by-product of the coconut industry and would otherwise be wasted.

  • Peat Free - 100% organic and renewable
  • Light weight & easy to handle - Little storage space required and no more lugging heavy compost bags from the gardening centre
  • Superior water holding capacity - Coir naturaly stores over 600% more water that normal peat soil, meaning much less waterring Improves aeration,
  • Excellent air space for roots to grow - 5 times lighter that peat soil, creating space for roots to grow easily
  • Efficiently releases nutients to plant rootsImproves efficiency of nutrients, making more nutrients available to the plants
  • Easy to hydrate and rehydrate - Just add water and expands to over 70 litres worth of compost in minutes, also rehydrate at anytime to re-use after storage.

Product Dimensions: H30cm x W30cm  x D10cm (Yes, it really is that small and it makes 70L of nutrient rich peat free compost!)
Weight: 5KG before hydration, 20KG+ after hydration

How to Hydrate:

You will need a wheelbarrow or a large container with a capacity of 70 litres or more (or you can always break off a section of the block and hydrate in parts)
Click here to see our 60 litre tub

1) Remove all packaging and place in the middle of the container
2) Use a hose to thoroughly soak the block using approximately 15 litres of water
3) Leave for at least 30 minutes (longer the better). It will start to expand as it soaks up moisture
4) Use a digging fork or shovel to break up the block as much as possible
5) Add a further 5 litres of water to the mixture and use your hands to break up the remainder of the block
6) Repeat this process until the entire product becomes soft and moist
